Downhill skiing in Red Lodge began in 1931 off of the Beartooth Highway while it was still under construction. This year, Red Lodge Mountain celebrated its 50th anniversary.  Two veteran ski instructors from Red Lodge Mountain, fascinated by pictures of the old Shangri-La ski area, put this book together with timelines, hundreds of photos and maps, and great stories from the last 70 years.
